She also earned the SILVER in the Cadet (16 & under) the following day, narrowly losing in the finals 14-15. Her victories secure her entry into the Summer Nationals for both age categories.
Also of note, Clarissa Perez made top 8 both days. At the end of the pools in the Junior event, Carrie was seeded #1 and Clarissa #2! Both girls have many more years in these age categories—to both, well done!

Coastside Hosted First-Ever Novice Tournament for Young Pacifica and S. San Francisco Fencers
March 17, 2010
Coastside Academy of Fencing hosted a fencing tournament for its young students from surrounding satellite programs on March 7.
Children, who are students of the academy but not club members, were invited over the past semester to attend and compete in the event in order to receive prizes and learn the fundamentals of a competitive fencing tournament.
This special and first-time event was co-sponsored by American Fencers Supply of Pacifica, CA and Alliance Fencing Equipment of San Francisco, CA. Both companies graciously volunteered to donate some fencing equipment, which made up a portion of the day’s prizes.
